Original era manufacture. Classic later war issue feldgrau wool tunic as worn by Bavarian troops during WWI.Feldgrau wool body with a hidden button front, two lower slash pockets with flaps and the classic turn-back French cuffs. The collar is of a different shade and texture of wool, indicative of Bavarian pattern. Full gray cotton lining, with issue markings on one side, telling us that this old tunic saw a lot of service in its time. Unit marked"K.B.I.R.14" (Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment nr.14, 3rd Company). On each shoulder seam are hand stitched loops to attach musicians swallows-neststo, these were not with the tunic when we purchased it, but would make an attractive addition. The shoulder straps, while of the era, are not correct but do serve a purpose until a proper pair can be found. Prussian style crown buttons on the pocket flaps and the rear belt support buttons. The overall condition of the uniform is very sound. That it saw service use there is no doubt, however I have not observed any repair tears or holes, just some scattered staining. The ends of the cuffs are not frayed, and the only moth damage that I saw was a 3 x 3 mm hole on the upper left side of the tunic body.
