Original era manufacture. A rather scarce example, which was produced to be used with the M1915 enlisted pickelhaube with removable spike.Pale grey cotton cover, with hooks on the edges to fit under the front and rear visors. The leather lined point is removable, to match the helmet for which it was intended, with scalloped shaped slots on each side for the chinstrap to pass through.There is a rather blurred makers inkstamp on the interior of the cover, along with a size mark of 58.  Normal age and wear, with a small hole on the top of the point cover.
