Original period manufacture. Stone gray colored canvas flap with brown leather loops for attaching the messkit. Heavygray cotton interior with brown leather internal straps One of the bottom securing straps is missing about three inches from it's tip. Shoulder straps are present but no metal hooks remain. Maker marked and dated 1917 on the reverse of the pack at the top.
