Original era manufacture. Very nice standard Prussian Infantry pattern helmet, complete with all fittings save for the Prussian kokarde. At the time of our purchase all of the metal fittings were covered in silver paint. We carefully removed all of the fittings except for the front visor trim and removed the terrible overpaint. In addition the original chinstrap was broken, so we backed the break with a small section of leather and glued it in place, looks pretty good now. No extra holes behind the wappen, in fact, both original leather wedges are in place. Nice solid liner with adjusting leather and very clear unit markings on the rear neckguard. National kokarde looks to be an old repaint.
