Original era manufacture. Original finish M1916 stahlhelm maker marked G (Gebruder Gnuchtel) and size 62 on the inside of the neckskirt. Interesting hand applied camouflage finish in ochre outlined with hand painted black edging.There is evidence of mud and dirt inside the helmet, and both of the ventilator lugs have been plugged with the same material.The original leather liner band is intact, with the original rivets in place. Dry, but pliable, original unbroken chinstrap is also present.
