German WWI M1916 Camouflage Steel Helmet, 89th Division Souvenir

Original era manufacture. M1916 pattern steel helmet, with a period applied camouflage paint finish on the exterior. Size and maker marked ET66, with the two chinstrap attachments in place. The exterior displays a hand applied camouflage paint finish, which has been added to in the past, perhaps by a child, with the addition of scattered areas of orange paint. On the left side of the helmet is period lettering in three lines, for me, only the lower line is readable, 89th Div. The right side displays the best, being clear of the orange spots.
