Original era manufacture. Original dark feldgrau paint finish, of which about 70 percent remains. Original leather liner band with portions of twoliner pads remaining. One missing front rivet, the other is a WWII pattern rivet, while the rearmost rivet is the proper WWI pattern rivet.On the inside of the neck skirt can be seen remnants of an old paper label, perhaps used to mail the helmet home during WWI.
