Original era manufacture. Original dark feldgrau paint finish on the interior and exterior of this helmet. Stamped on the inside left of the helmet skirt is the makers initials and size, ET64. All of the original liner rivets are in place with matching paint finish. The leather liner band is intact and most of the leather liner pads remain, however some of the ends have broken away, certainly better than most we find today. The liner leather still remains pliable but a bit dry, but is not crumbling or rotten.  All in all are pretty honest WWI German trench helmet.
