Original era manufacture. This is a near complete, untouchedcondition WWI German trench helmet, with its original chinstrap, metal liner band with three pads. It is missing the rivets for some reason.Dark feldgrau paint finish with mud residue in the crevices and seams of the helmet, the left side ventilator is also plugged with mud; a common practice to prevent the wind from whistling through the vents.Metal liner band missing its rivets, however the three leather pads are in place and are original to the band. One of the pads has pulled away from the band, but none of the fingers are broken through.Amazinglyan original black leather chinstrap remains intact. Although it displays considerable age and wear, the leather remains unbroken with all buckles and connectors remaining.
