Original era manufacture. Standard WWI M1916 steel helmet, maker and size marked on the neckskirt Si66.On the exterior of the helmet, are five, ochre yellow handpainted discs, likely done by the US Doughboy who brought the helmet home with him from France 100 years ago.On the front and left side panels is a painted history of the Doughboy's service during WWI, but they are faint, and take some effort to see. Inside is a leather liner band, with remnants of the liner pad remaining. Nice old WWI trophy, and with some effort, you should be able to decipher the lettering on the panels.
