Original era manufacture. A good solid example of the WWI German M1916 Stahlhelm, with most of it's original feldgrau paint intact, inside and out. The maker mark and size stamp are clearly visible on the neck skirt, SI66. Replaced leather liner, but the original steel liner band and rivets are intact. Original chinstrap showing glue repairs in several spots. On the front of the helmet is a rectangular area in a lighter shade of feldgrau, likely the spot for a mail-home label from the war.
