Original era manufacture. Sound example of a rare WWI era German helmet. Size marked ET64 on the inside of the neck skirt as it should be. Dark plum steel patina mixed with feldgrau exterior, a bit more of the feldgrau finish can be seen on the helmets interior. Steel liner band secured with three matching finish rivets, one of the leather liner pads has pulled away, the other two are secure. The chinstrap side with the snaphook is sound, the other, shorter side has broken. Lot number stamped into the crown of the helmet is R1865N, interestingly it is 66 numbers off from a similar helmet in our own collection. Purchased locally here in Arizona from a longtime collector now downsizing.
