Original period manufacture. Photo and document grouping to members of the Stahl family of Sulzheim Germany. The grouping includes a large, 12 x 19 inch commercially produced montage image of the men from Sulzheim who served during the Great War 1914-1918. The photos within the laurel leaves apparently are the men who did not come home. Included in the photos are four men with the last name of Stahl, one, Kristoph Stahl, appears as a casualty. A period CDV style image of him in prewar uniform is also included with a notation on the reverse as KIA. Another smaller image is included with the name of Wilhelm on the reverse, he also appears in the main photo, upper left in our posted image. Also included is a document for a black Wound Badge named to Wilhelm, also a preliminary certificate for the Iron Cross 2nd Class to Gefreiten d.r. Stahl, 358 Infantry rgt dated 1933. Lastly a preliminary certificate for a wound badge to Wilhelm Stahl also dated 1933. During WWI, the IR 358 served with the 214th Infantry Division. Raised in 1916, it served entirely on the Western Front, in both Belgium and France.
