Original era manufacture. A very fine example of the German WWI large capacity medical canteen, with a corduroy cover and brown leather harness and shoulder strap.Zinc finished steel drinking cup, all of the leather fittings are sound, and free of damage or dry rot. Inked onto the top side of the shoulder strap is the following; "J. Leland Jordan, Ordnance Department US Army, France Jan. 9 '18, June 9 '19, Germany Jun 9 '19, Sept 5 '19".Very clean, no moth issues or damage, just normal age and wear.
