Original era manufacture. Standard pattern M1916 steel helmet, Si66,as worn by German troops during the Great War, with an original camouflage paint finish, and leather liner. Most of the originalthree color camouflage paint finish remains, with a wide band of black paint dividing the sections of color. Mix of surface corrosion and paint finish overall. All three original rivets remain intact, with theleather liner band present, with the three leather liner sections remaining as well...all with intact fingers and adjusting string holes.Remnants of the original chinstrap remain, amazingly with the original adjusting buckles and attaching pieces. There is a name and unit number written inside the neckskirt, the name appears to be Zimmerman.
