Original era manufacture. Standard pattern M1916 steel helmet, ET64,as worn by German troops during the Great War, with an original, hand appliedcamouflage paint finish. Most of the originalthree color camouflage paint finish remains, with evidence visible of brush strokes and daubing on the surface. There are three original rivets present; the proper, thick style rivet is on the back of the helmet with a matching color to the camouflage panel. The right front rivet also matches its green color panel, however the left front rivet, set into a yellow panel, does not match; it's color being a dark steel patina.Originalsteel liner band, which at some point in time has had a Swedish helmet liner installed. Whoever did the stitching did a great job, but it is not period to the helmet. On the inside of the neck skirt is written the original owners name and what appears to be unit details.Normal age and wear overall with a nicely defined WWI camouflage paint job.
