Original period manufacture. Pair of documents awarding the Iron Cross 2nd Class Gefreiter Albert Riegel, of 9th Company, IR 462. The larger of the two is signed by the Division commander of the 257th Infantry Division., the smaller, by Riegel;s company commander. Both documents are dated in 1917.The larger of the two measures 8 x 11 inches, the smaller one, 7 x 8 inches.Folded as shown, each showing typical age and wear.
