Original era manufacture. This is a very interesting ring, one with a back story about which we can only wonder. Typical "I Gave Gold For Iron" ring with an enameled Iron Cross at center, with a 10k gold inner lining. There is a jewelers name engraved on the interior, H.F.Linder N.Y., and below H.F.L. 10k.  Boy, we would love to know the story on this one. Perhaps a wealthy woman in America donated money to the German War effort prior to April 1917, but decided to line her iron ring with gold. 17 mm opening.
