Original era manufacture. Another very nice example of a commercially produced Ladies bracelet from WWI. Made in the form of a driving band from an artillery projectile with an enameled Iron Cross in the center. The original sales box is certainly the star attraction in this ensemble, being of black cardboard with a wonderful printed design of the EK2 on its cover. Inside the lid, the jeweler's name of Eugen Schwabe, APOLDA, Thringen, can be seen. The bracelet is in near new condition, in spite of it's 100 year age, with just a touch of patina to the finish at the hinge. The box is also basically sound for it's age, not crushed and the paper lid-hinge is intact. The only issue is with the lower left corner edge of the top, which has split. This can be repaired, using a thin piece of L-shaped paper and glue inside the corner. Terri and I really like these, and the box is wonderful, darn it...we just can't keep it all.
