Original era manufacture. A sound M1915 Prussian enlisted pickelhaube body with gray metal trim. The front visor is securely sewn to the body, with a split in the gray metal visor trim and extra holes in the body from a swapped out wappen. The rear visor is a nicely done replacement to the point that I missed it on my first inspection. Original finish gray steel spine, and a brass non-removable spike, which has been expertly over-painted gray to match the trim, the base is missing one securing brad. Decent original leather liner with a leather drawstring. Original enlisted helmet cover with steel hooks on the edge to hold it onto the helmet. The cover shows service use and wear, fading from weather exposure and one of the steel hooks is missing. There is a hole in the top of the spike cover and a fabric tear in the lower rear area. The front has an interesting triangular shaped patch which covers the original wool felt numbers which the stitch outlines of can be seen on the interior of the cover. There are two digits with one appearing to be the number 1.
