Original era manufacture. A very sound example with no damage or distortion to the feldgrau wool felt body. Nice black leather liner with a white cotton adjusting string. The front visor is bound with a gray finished steel trim and secured with two matching side rivets. All of the metal fittings match one another color-wise. Original set of Prussian & national kokarden. There are two sets of holes in the body behind the eagle plate, both sets appear to be properly and evenly cut and look to have been done at the time. I can see no evidence of any other wappen being on this helmet than the current one. Removable kugel top, the interior locking ring has loosened with age so the top rattles a bit. Simple brown leather chinstrap with two lines of stitching trim. It is an old strap and may be original to the helmet. Very, very clean overall.
