Original era manufacture.  A very solid example of the issue M1915 Prussian infantry pickelhaube of WWI. No extra holes behind the wappen, and unit marked on the interior BA VII  and dated 1916. The leather body has a nice surface finish, and the metal fittings have a nice old steel patina to them. The removable spike, while original, is of a different shade of gray, so likely a swap-out from another helmet at some point. Original kokarden, the chinstrap is a good quality older replacement. Pliable black leather liner, two tops are missing from the fingers, but sound otherwise.
