Original era manufacture.  A very solid example of the issue M1915 Prussian infantry pickelhaube of WWI. No extra holes behind the wappen, and unit marked on the interior I.R. 138 (Unter-Elsassiches Infanterie Rgt Nr. 138, lower Alsace)  and dated 1916. The front visor is loose, and the rear visor is a decent quality replacement. Good quality replica chinstrap on the mounting lugs. The leather body has a nice surface finish, and the metal fittings have a nice old steel patina to them.The leather liner is torn on the  sides but is otherwise intact. This helmet reminds me a lot of my first helmet, Christmas 1963, I still have it.
