Original era manufacture. Standard gray trim enlisted helmet introduce in 1915. It is complete with all fittings except for the Prussian & National kokarden and chinstrap. There are extra holes behind the wappen telling us that another eagle perched at one time on the helmets front. The removable spike works properly, both front and rear visors are securely sewn. The liner is fairly complete with a previous owner feeling the need to glue the remaining liner tongues to the inside of the helmet, several have since loosened. There is wear to the liner edge and a weak spot in the helmet body on the right side, just below the chinstrap attachment. A good beginner helmet and a decent restoration project.
