Original period manufacture. Clean 12 inch polished steel blade with a Bayard proof on the ricasso. No issue marks on the spine although there are crown proofs on the pommel. Even steel patina to the guard and pommel with a working lock button. Sound wooden grips in original finish. Interesting ersatz style scabbard with traces of original feldgrau paint finish around the frog stud. Sizable dent in the body towards the tip. Scarce bayonet.
