Original era manufacture. Standard issue S84/98 bayonet, made by Gebruder Heller, Marienthal.Produced during WWI, with a W 17 proof on the blade spine, the crown has been purposely removed. The blade and pommel have been polished, removing the crown proofs on the pommel, and the steel scabbard painted black. These modifications were perhaps done for parade/dress purposes for the Reichswehr during the Weimar Government.A solid example in any case.
