Original era manufacture. Bright finished blade with a maker marked ricasso and a crown proof on the spine. Originally manufactured as a sawback spine, which was ground off, due to German soldiers captured with these bayonets being put to death by Allied troops. The blade is quite clean, unsharpened edge with a sharp tip. The pommel and guard show cleaned surface corrosion, lock button works properly and the wood grips are decent. Proper style WWI scabbard with a crown proof on the frog stud. Blue finish overall with sizable dent just below the stud. Most of that will go away if you put a frog on the scabbard.
