Original period manufacture. Polished steel sawback bayonet blade which is maker marked on the ricasso, Bontgen & Sabin, Solingen. The blade surface presents a dark steel patina finish, no corrosion pitting, and the blade has not been sharpened.Dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with evidence of corrosion staining and light surface corrosion on the pommel. There is an imperial proof on the pommel and top of the blade spine. Sound, original finish wooden grips with a dented flashguard.Relatively dent-free blue steel finished scabbard with a light coating of surface corrosion.
