Original era manufacture. Bavarian crown-L marked blade, V.C. Schilling mfg, quill back, polished steel in clean condition.Second pattern, two piece wood grips, polished steel guard and pommel, with a working lock button. Even steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with two crown proofs on the pommel.Proper leather bodied scabbard with steel throat and chape, sound stitching. The bayonet and scabbard fit properly without a gap between the throat and bottom of the guard. Crown proofs on the top of the scabbard throat. Normal service use and wear, decent bayonet.
