Original era manufacture. Standard butcher pattern bayonet with an unusual makers name CITTO-COLN on the ricasso, no date or Imperial proofs on the spine. The blade is corrosion free but shows speckeled areas of oil spotting, very lightly sharpened cutting edge with a sharp point. Decent, serrated wooden grips, steel patina to the pommel and guard. The blade draws easily from its blue steel scabbard and displays most of its original finish with some light surface corrosion, no dents. Sound original leather frog with a very worn, 1st Company bayonet knot wrapped around the belt loop. Imperial proofs on the pommel and scabbard throat.
