Original era manufacture. Bright and clean butcher pattern blade, with is maker marked V.Schilling Suhl on the ricasso, with a Crown W 16 proof on the blade spine. The blade is very clean, with a good deal of original finish remaining on the surface, sharp point, no nicks in the cutting edge, with just a touch of staining to the surface.Bright, steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with minor surface marring to the original finish grips. The original steel and leather scabbard is in beautiful condition for its age. All of the stitching is tight and sound, with a nice luster to the leather surface. Bright steel patina finish to the metal fittings, with two Imperial proof marks on the top of the scabbard throat. The blade is a very tight fit to the scabbard, which leads me to believe that this might be a "married" set. The blade to scabbard fit is perfect, but really tight to draw or insert.
