Original period manufacture. Standard WWI issue S98/05 bayonet made by Haenel, Suhl, Crown W 17 on the spine. Postwar blue finished blade, guard and pommelwith most of the finish remaining. 1920 stamped on the obverse crossguard and on the reverse S.Op.II.155.3367. which I believe translates to, Schutzpolizei, Oppeln, District II, 155th Weapon. The bladeshows scratches and wear to its finish with a few very small nicks in the cutting edge. Standard metal scabbard with a blue finish, large black leather frog which is unmarked.
