Original era manufacture. Standard WWI butcher bayonet which has the sawback spine intact. Readable markings on the spine, Crown W 16, and on the ricasso Gottlieb Hammesfahr, Solingen Foche. The metal surfaces display evidence of old corrosion, all of this has been cleaned away, and metal presents an even steel patina finish. The wood grips show honest age and wear but remain sound, the lock button works properly. No scabbard.
