Original era manufacture. Standard S98/05 butcher blade bayonet made by Waffenfabrik Mauser, marked on both the blade ricasso and scabbard throat. The bright finished blade is very clean with no corrosion issues, W crown proof 16 on the spine. Sound serrated wood grips, showing very minor marring and bumping from service use. Dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. The steel scabbard has a dark patina finish, exhibiting scattered spots of denting from service use, yet the blade can be easily drawn and inserted.
