Original era manufacture. Standard S98/05 butcher blade bayonet made by Waffenfabrik Mauser, and so marked on the blade ricasso. The bright finished blade is very clean with no corrosion issues, W crown proof 17 on the spine. Sound serrated wood grips, showing very minor marring and bumping from service use. Dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. The steel scabbard has a mix of original blue and dark patina finish, the blade can be easily drawn and inserted. The scabbard is not Mauser marked, crown proof on the tip and top of the scabbard throat.
