Original era manufacture. Standard pattern 98/05 bayonet, dark patina finish to the Horster marked blade, Crown 17 proofed on the spine. Old sharpening attempt to the blade edge. Slightly bend in the blade at the base. Dark teel patina finish to the guard and pommel. Original finish wooden grips with minor marring and bumping to the surface, no cracks or chips to the wood. The scabbard has minor denting, with a good bit of blue remaining on the obverse, the reverse displays some scattered surface corrosion.A very nice original leather frog, which is maker marked and dated 1918, with a rather clear army depot inkstamp.
