Original era manufacture. Standard S98/05 bayonet made by Fichtel & Sachs.  The bayonet is very presentable, with a blue finish to the blade indicating possible postwar police use, clear markings, and a crown L proof 18 on the spine. Sound serrated wood grips, showing minor marring and bumping from service use, no cracks or chips. Dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with some surface corrosion to the surface of the flashguard. Lock button works as it should. Mix of blue and steel patina finish to the scabbard, with a few very shallow dents on the reverse. Looks to be a WWII era mounted pattern leather frog with aluminum rivets and an intact pommel strap. No visible markings to the frog, the pommel strap is weak but not broken.
