Original era manufacture. Standard S98/05 bayonet and leather frog, F. W. Holler, Solingen, crown W 16 on the spine. Clean bright finished blade, no corrosion issues. Original finish wooden grips, steel patina finish to the guard and pommel with an operable lock button. Dark steel patina finish to the scabbard, with a scattering of cleaned surface pitting. Very minor denting to the scabbard body. Sound original WWI frog with sound stitching, triangular shaped hole in the reverse of the belt loop to allow the bayonet to be placed on a hook or nail. A common feature of service used bayonets.
