Original era  manufacture. Classic WWI S98/05 bayonet made by Maschinenfabrik  A-G Duisburg. Postwar, the bayonet was re-issued to the Reichs Air Ministry and is marked RLM on the guard. Postwar applied blue finish to the blade, with the imperial proofs removed from the spine. Sound, original finish wooden grips, with a dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. Blue steel finished scabbard with scattered spots of surface corrosion. Sound original black leather frog.
