Original era manufacture. A very clean example with a bright steel blade made by Waffenfabrik, Mauser, and most importantly the scabbard is also Mauser marked.The blade is very clean, displaying runner wear only, no corrosion issues and the cutting edge is not sharpened, crown W 16 stamped on the spine. Dark blue steel patina to the guard and pommel. Original finish wooden grips with minor marring and bumping to the surface, no cracks or chips. The blue steel finished scabbard is very sound, nice mix of blue and steel patina finish, and only a very few minor bumps in the surface. On the reverse of the scabbard body is stamped, Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. Oberndorf a N. which is slightly marred from service use.A scarce maker, with its properly marked scabbard.
