Original era manufacture. Standard pattern S98/05 "Butcher" pattern bayonet made by Horster with a 17 spine date. Postwar blue steel finish to the blade with a 1920 re-issue stamp on the guard, unit marks on the reverse of the guard B.S.146, a matching set appears on the scabbard throat. Original finish wooden grips, with a dark steel patina pommel with an operable lock button. Dark steel patina finish to the scabbard with scattered denting on each side.
