Original era  manufacture. Classic WWI S98/05 bayonet made by Waffenfabrik Mauser, Oberndorf AG; crown W 17 proof on the spine.The blade is bright and clean with no issues beyond light age and wear. Steel patina finish to the guard and pommel with light surface corrosion on the latter. Original finish wood grips displaying typical marring and bumping from service use.Mix of steel patina and blue finish on the scabbard, with light surface denting along it's length. Generally, the Mauser produced scabbards would have their name on the reverse below the throat. This one is blank, so is likely a post production swap-out occurring during the past 100 years.
