German WWI S98/05 Issue Sawback Bayonet, Mauser Mfg, Frog & Knot

Original era manufacture. Standard issue S98/05 bayonet with a sawback edge, original frog & bayonet knot. The blade is clean, no issues, with a Crown W 15 proof on the spine; Mauser name on the ricasso. Steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with original wood grips, one darker than the other. Blue steel finish scabbard with throat screw, most of the finish remains, with scattered wear and service denting along its length. Original brown leather service quality frog with makers markings on the reverse. If there was a date, it has now been obscured through wear. Original bayonet knot showing service wear and use. Typically the Mauser made bayonets are also maker marked on the reverse of the scabbard, below the throat. This one is so close to the leather frog, I am concerned about straining the stitching on the frog and damaging it. The overall condition of the bayonet and scabbard match well, with the blade fitting inside the scabbard easily.
