Original period manufacture. A solid example of a popular WWI German service bayonet. Sawback blade produced by the Mundlos firm of Magdeburg, crown proof on the spine, with a clean, patina finish to the blade. No corrosion issues, just slightly darkened from age. We have not made any attempt to clean the blade.Sound wooden grips, matching steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with some light denting to the flashguard.Leather bodied scabbard with sound stitching and steel fittings, securing screw missing from the scabbard throat.Original dark leather frog which is maker marked and dated 1916.
