Original era manufacture. Standard S98/05 sawback bayonet made by E. F. Horster, Solingen.  The bayonet is very presentable, with a bright blade with very clear markings, and a crown proof 15 on the spine. Most of the original polish remains on the blade surface, with nicks in the edge.  Sound serrated wood grips, showing minor marring and bumping from service use. Bright steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with some denting to the surface of the flashguard. Blue steel scabbard retaining most of the original finish, dent on the reverse of the scabbard, the frog stud is pushed in slightly.
