Original era manufacture. A well used example of what most folks recognize as the classic German bayonet of WWI. Butcher style blade with the Weyersberg name on the ricasso, crown W 17 proof on the blade spine. There is a blue finish to the blade, with evidence of an old sharpening and numerous nicks on the spine. There is some scattered corrosion issues to the surface, but with some light oil and very fine steel wool this clean up pretty well. Dark steelpatina to the guard and pommel, with a serial number on the guard of 54G, perhaps indicating postwar Policeuse. The wood grips are battered from use and show some chipping near the guard and pommel. The steel scabbard is nearly dent free but missing its frog stud and throat securing screw.
