Sanke, sepia tone postcard image of Kurt Wintgens, credited with 19 victories, prior to his own death in 1916 at the hands of French Ace Alfred Heurteaux.He is acknowledged as the first pilot to shoot down an opposing aircraft with the use of a synchronized machine-gun.Postmarked reverse, to a German Pioneer battalion.
