Original era manufacture. All steel construction of an early pattern made without the equipment hooks on the exterior. When original issued, these came with three lower segmented tassets to cover the groin area, which were held in place by heavy cloth, or ersatz straps. This example has lost its segments, either removed by design or time, it certainly makes it easier for the wearer to move around with just the breastplate in wear.Original finish mixed with steel patina.
