German WWI Trench Art Shell, British Royal Engineers Engraved

Original era manufacture. 1917 dated German 77 mm shell casing which stands about 8.5 inches in height. On its side is a very nicely rendered design of the crest for the British Royal Engineers, and engraved below is "Souvenir of the War". The shell is sound, no dents but does have a series of small stress cracks in the brass above the casing rim, and next to the wording.
