German WWI Well Worn Mounted Enlisted Boots

Original period manufacture. This well-worn pair of enlisted mounted boots illustrates to what lengths a troop cobbler would go to keep a soldier shod. The boots measure 18 inches in height with pointed toes, hobnail soles and stacked leather heels. Numerous repairs can be seen on each boot, most in the natural wear areas associated with mounted service. The leather is stiffened with age but remains fairly pliable, the black/white cloth "pulls" are still sewn to the inside of each boot. No dry rot to the leather, still fine for display, these must have been true Iron Maidens of their time.
